In a recent case a claimant purchased a cup of soup to go. She then claimed that the bottom of the container opened up and the hot soup poured over her arms giving her third degree burns. She sued our client for $78,000.

She claimed that the container opened as she was walking on the insured property.

As the investigation progressed between us and the examiner, it was determined that the claimant had recently gotten jammed up with her employer and owed, you guessed it, $78,000.

Claim dropped.
